The LHQS had a great time attending the 2024 International Symposium on Quantum Fluids and Solids (QFS24) and presenting on our latest experiments on electrons on helium!
Austin Schleusner presented a poster on his work investigating the "High-frequency dynamics of the liquid and solid phases of electrons on helium" for which he won a Best Poser Award!! In other news, LHQS member Camille Mikolas gave a talk on the topic of "Plasmon mode engineering with electrons on helium" and how her research are paving the way future cavity opto-plasmonic experiments using the colletive excitations of this unique low-dimensional electron system.
QFS is the premier event for researchers and professionals in the field of quantum fluids and solids. This year, the conference was hosted by our colleagues at FSU and UF at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront in Jacksonville, Florida, USA, from July 24-30, 2024. The QFS conference, with its rich history and tradition of alternating locations between North America, Europe, and Asia since 1997, has been a cornerstone in the exploration of quantum phenomena in materials.
